The truly unique visual appeal of the decorative Acanthus Leaf Box is enhanced with the three-dimensional texture and look of the real acanthus leaf section. The lid is handcrafted in a proprietary technique from cast architectural gypsum cement with natural shellac and metallic pigments. The artist uses real leaves to cast unique botanical shapes on each individual lid. Each lid is hand-detailed and finished with four to six layers of metallic pigment.
The body of the box is made from bamboo, painted black on the outside and unpainted on the inside to reveal natural bamboo color. A metal knob is placed in the center of each lid.
